EIIR Letterbox in Monochrome

These red painted post boxes with the EIIR Cipher were ubiquitous in Hong Kong. Today, you may still see the rare red painted one around town, but the majority have now been painted green the match the Hong Kong Post colour scheme, or replaced with cube boxes. This picture was taken at Yat Tung Market in Tung Chung. The market was renovated to look like ‘old’ Hong Kong and is quite a charming place to visit perhaps after one of the Lantau Island hikes, Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car Ride, Lantau Buddha, or Tung Chung Fort.
