One thing photography will teach you is patience. Waiting for the perfect picture, trying again and again, until its just right. This was the case here in trying to capture this red minibus heading to Sai Wan. After several attempts ended up with people or cars blocking the minibus, I was on the verge of calling it a day and moving on to another part of Sai Ying Pun. I gave myself one more chance. It either happens, or today was not going to be the day. I saw the minibus come around the corner. No other cars in front. I walked out to the middle of the road. I knew it was safe as the minibus would be turning left just before I was standing. I crouched down low. The weight of the Canon 70-200 f2.8 causing some additional challenges with balancing myself. Set the lens to 200mm, I knew I had enough distance and that I was straight on to the front of the minibus, so set f2.8. To avoid some of the potential blur caused by crouching and the moving subject, I set the shutter speed to 1/250 with a bump in ISO to 200. Now, just had to get the shot before falling over. As the vehicle approached, I locked focus and squeezed the shutter release. The driver and I made eye contact as he turned left, and I rather ungracefully stood up and moved back to the pavement.
